What makes a Saint story bad for kids?
- The story mainly shows the Saint’s sufferings without seeing their joys.
- The sufferings feel pointless and don’t show the lives saved and transformed by the Saint’s sacrifices.
- The Saints seem super human and perfect in all ways.
What makes a good Saint story?
- The Saints are shown as relatable people with hopes and struggles like us.
- We see clearly that the Saint’s acts of faith are eventually rewarded.
- We see both the inner drama of their struggles and the delight of their victories.
- We are surprised and awed by how God does the miraculous.
What 3 answers does God give us in prayer?
- 1) Yes.
- 2) Not yet.
- 3) I’ve got something better in store for you!
When we know that the end game of life is Heaven, then it’s far easier to accept the difficulties, sufferings and failures that God allows. God either wills or allows these things in order to pull greater good from them. And that good is growth in faith, hope, and love, which expand our soul to receive more of the joy of Heaven!
