I love Studio C! Though I laughed at this sketch, it stuck me; it’s just not true. However, it does highlight the false notion that ‘just being not bad is good enough.’ It’s not. Click over to the full Family Conquest. The “To Do” activity in the Wrapping It Up section asks families to share any stories they may have about a time they apologized or went to confession and felt really free and joyful.
(Sometimes people feel ‘lighter’ and happier after confession. This often happens after a general confession, which is when you carefully examen your whole life, make a thorough list of sins, especially ones you may have forgotten to confess, and take all those to confession.)
Spiritual Nuggets for Family Discussion
Open with a prayer.
(i.e. a Glory Be, or Our Father, or Hail Mary, or ‘Jesus, Mary, Joseph, we love You! Save souls!’)
- Nope. He wants to lead all souls to hell.
- The Devil does hate to be around people who have great faith in God and do their best to love and serve God and others.
- Yes!
- God rejects those who are lukewarm: “I know your works; I know that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either cold or hot. So, because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.” – Rev 3:16-17
