Where do we first learn about our emotions?
- In our families.
Can we be well educated and still misunderstand our own emotions?
- Yes!
- Misunderstanding our own emotions and those of the people around us leads to personal and relationship problems.
Are emotions in themselves sinful?
- No. Feeling an emotion is not sinful. (cf CCC 1767)
- However, deliberately desiring or intentionally willing something evil is sinful. (CCC 1767 & 2302)
- Also, our behavior that is destructive to ourselves and others is sinful.
